GOVERNANCE
The Henika District
Library serves the residential population of the City of Wayland and Wayland
Township, a total of 6,921 people. Library operations are supported by 1.5
mills collected in taxes from residents of the District Library.
Library business is
conducted by an appointed, eight member board of directors. These board
members, four from each municipality, are appointed to staggered four-year terms
by their respective municipalities. The current board consists of the following

are held once a month on the second Thursday @ 6:00 PM at the library. The

All meetings are
held at the Henika District Library and are open to the public according to the
Open Meetings Act. Meetings begin promptly at 6:00 pm.
The Henika District
Library is a member of the Lakeland
Library Cooperative which serves the greater West Michigan area. They
provide a variety of services to the patrons of over 80 libraries.
We are also members
of the Michigan
Library Association (MLA); and the American
Library Association (ALA)
