Pickup your eScrip cards at Harding's or the Library. A percentage of your purchases will go to benefit the library.

Gently Used Materials

Many people like to donate their no-longer-read or viewed books, videos, DVDs, CDs and audiocassettes to the library.  Henika District Library is pleased to accept such donations provided that they fall within the scope of accepted guidelines. Donations of gently used items are being accepted during open hours.

  • Materials must be in good to excellent condition
  • The copyright must be no older than three years on fiction
  • The copyright must be no older than ten years on non-fiction
  • We will not accept magazines, Readers Digest condensed books, or items that are dirty or smell musty

Alternative places to donate materials include Goodwill, the Salvation Army, veterans facilities, the Allegan County Jail (paperback fiction only), and Sylvia's Place (children's books, women's fiction). The Laurels of Sandy Creek will accept large print books and books on tape.

If you are making this donation for tax purposes, please remember to ask for your donation receipt from one of the librarians.

Memorial Donations

Donations received in memory of:  Orrin J. Smith

It is common for a family to name the Henika District Library as the recipient of memorial donations. Donations honoring a living loved one are also welcome.  These donations help to add items of special interest to the collection.

Planned Giving

Recent bequests:  H. Helmey and Peggy Jo Kettle

The Henika District Library has been the recipient of several generous gifts provided for in the estates of our patrons.  We encourage anyone who values the place of the Library in the community to include us in your estate planning.
