This quilt was made in memory of Kay Smith, on her death
in July of 2003. Kay was an employee of the library for more than 25
years. This quilt was made by Wendy Lehmoine and donated by the Kay Smith
Memorial Fund, the City of Wayland, and the Henika District Library.

The only outdoor sculpture in town! This art piece is
our bike-rack. Our Board President, Gary Marsh painstakingly installed
this for the library in the summer of 2001. |

The Henika Ladies Library was built and established in
1899. The building is on the Michigan Historic Register. |

Local artist, Rose Redding painted and donated this
beautiful carousel horse to the library. This piece graces the stairwell
to the youth area. |

This remarkable quilt was designed and handcrafted by Wendy Lehmoine. The quilt measures eighty
by sixty six inches and contains hundreds of individually appliquéd
pieces. The window looking out to a flower garden contains two hundred and
twenty five squares. Many other pieces were hand dyed or hand painted.

A local Girl Scout Troop made these cool stepping stones
and donated them along with beautifying the front flower garden. |

a former Board President.
